The Playstation 2 is a console made by Sony Computer Entertainment, first released in March 4, 2000. The console was a huge success, selling over 150 million units.[1], making it one of the best-selling consoles of all time. Since its launch, more than 3,800 games have been produced for the console, and over 1.5 billion copies have been sold.[2]
On January 4 2013, Sony finally announced that the console would be discontinued, making it one of the longest runs for a video game console.
